You got it exactly correct my friend. But being lazy (actually I tried to do what you show but was too difficult with my old decrepit green fingers). So, I only went about a third way in from the back. But, it sure breaks up the nasty sound waves traveling inside the cylinder and yet doesn't block any of the porting or ever move around inside (cause of the tape)!

Will I ever be done with this project! My Deaf Leopard won't let me rest until I get her a Leupold range finder!

Anyone got one yet. I've been to the confirmation page three times now and always backed out then. Hoping to find them even cheaper. Best seemed to be ebay new, $218; but with tax and shipping, it was similar to the price as Amazon has it - like only $4 more so, I thought what the heck I'll buy directly from Amazon (but, then I realized this wasn't a "prime item" which meant I had to pay shipping) so I canceled there too. So, as soon as I find a decent price. It only weighs 10 ounces!

At Trinity, How do you like your HHA optimizer? I'm thinking of getting one and the Leupold Range finder instead of another crossbow scope. Don't get me wrong. They are great for my normal range of around 50 meters/yards. I still use my crossbow scopes for that but for even more accurate ranging at even longer distances for me (200 feet approximately 70 meters) I think the HHA with the Leupold will do it, along with an SR1 of course!
I still want to drop two rounds in a row at 70 meters with the first two shots (not walk them in) in a 3 to 4 inch pattern. That to me will be the essence of an SR1 (with a silencer of course).

Having done alot of testing at those ranges i can safely say that it should be possible to do that with your current markers. The most important thing when going for those ranges is a reliable APR that you really know how to use and a steady hand (if you don't use a fixed firing position...).

The HHA Optimizer, when all is said and done, is really just an APR, but what an APR it is. The Optimizer is all about precision. The difference between the Tiberius or Killjoy APR is the difference between an axe and a scapel. Both tools do the job but the cuts you can make with the scalpel are so much more controllable and when you need exactness only the scalpel will do. The Optimizer wheel turns the APR through a precise range of distances. It doesn't jump one click or get raised one slot. It is completely variable. That kind of precision matches up beautifully with the first strike round at ranges up to about 60-70 yards. The changes are measurable. Of course that kind of precision only matters if the rest of your game has that same level of throughness.

Yes, the HHA optimizer arrived yesterday. It appears to be a quality product with 1 yard increments (not just some angle you select on an APR - whose ever it is). Today or tomorrow, not clear from tracking number information I got, the Leupold arrives. It displays on large LED the range in yards (one yard increments) to your target (it is designed for cross bows just like the optimizer). So, they should be a match made in heaven. All I got to do now is find a platform that will match their precision!

My HHA is on order. I'm planning on mounting it on top of the Killjoy APR2 (just like trinity's setup). The only I issue have is that it raises the optic a little too high and it makes my marker top heavy.

It does look high but the height has never really bothered me. Besides, just think how good your rig will look on my helmet cam at the next Supergame.

A wise paintball player once told me "Looking good is half the battle." Supergame can't get here fast enough. chicago - I just got done reading this thread in its entirety. Thanks for sharing... the content is excellent and builds up the knowledge base of first strike rounds.

I got my 2 HHA Optimizers as well as my 2 XB1s in today. I decided that instead of using a Killjoy APR, I am going with a .5" riser thats non adjustable, just to raise the HHA up for eye relief and to be able to sight in with my mask. My Paradigm pro should be in next week, so expect lots of pictures, reviews, and test data on that one next weekend. ^_^

Just got the first of several orders to help me get set up and back into paintball, courtesy of Rock Star Tactical. I also have orders from Hustle Paintball as well as GMan1 from militaryassaultgear.com. Hustle should be here next week and GMan1's shipment should be here by the end of the month. So, by the end of February, I will have photos up and descriptions of all of my load outs. ^_^
