I am excited to announce that for the full week of Oklahoma D-Day 2013 we will have Steven Armstrong, a Retired Army First Sergeant and Sniper, leading daily courses on how to be an effective paintball sniper. He requests that if you are interested in this training that you be a seasoned tactical paintballer who lives and dies for scenario paintball. Hit me up here or on the field if you are interested and I will get you plugged in to this unique opportunity.

They're still allowing players to sign up for the same all inclusive entry fee, so if you'd like to join the fight jump over to their site www.ddaypark.com. When it asks which unit you'd like to enlist with, put in 82nd Airborne Division as your choice. For those who are still unsure if this is the event for you, check this out. It's the site for a movie which brings a professional view of what goes on behind the scenes. Almost 5 years in the making, at a cost of close to 200,000 dollars, this film called 'Soldiers Of Paint' presents you with the story of what goes on behind the scenes at The Annual Oklahoma D-Day Event. Check out the preview, read the reviews, buy or download a copy and then book a flight to Wyandotte so you can take part in this historic tribute to all those who paid the ultimate price for our freedom. www.soldiersofpaint.comSincerely,

For those of you who've been wondering where to go for something to eat while you're on site, especially if your unit isn't going to be offering a 'meal deal' like the 899th and the 1st ID groups are, there's a couple of on site places that offer some great food. The first is the D-Day Café, which is under new management this year and the other is a mobile 'Domino's Pizza' trailer.

Camping is free correct, I am still trying to get there on a budget. Shooting an SR-1 helps my budget big time.

That's correct, camping is included in your entry fee. Also included are all the HPA refills you need, plus access to the showers. (Hint, use the showers across from the Commonwealth Expeditionary Forces). If that's not enough of an inducement, hook up with either the 899th, CEF or 1st ID for all your meals. All three divisions offer 3 home cooked meals for around 7-8 bucks per day. There's also a café on site, as well as a Domino's Pizza trailer.
Here's some fresh news from over on the D-Day Forum that might also be of interest to some of you. It was posted earlier today by a player who calls himself 'Bagheera'
Update:
"I'll be driving through the Southwest from Southern California, including Arizona and New Mexico, so if any D-Day'ers need a ride in those states, let me know. I can go through either Northern (Albuquerque) or Southern New Mexico (Las Cruces), but Southern New Mexico is preferred."
If anyone wants to take him up on this or has some questions for him, either jump over to their forum, or let me know and be sure to include your contact details, so he can get in touch with you.
Sincerely,

Almost forgot, I scored a deal today with DYE for an ad for my stars and stripes newspaper, but instead of paying cash they'd only agree to the deal if I took goods in exchange. So I took 3 of their masks as part of the deal, but since I don't plan on playing any more I'm donating them to the O.S.S. unit, sort of as an added inducement to see who can score more kills. If you'd like to get in on this take my advice and sign up for the O.S.S.

Ok, it's time to either jump onboard or stand back as this train is pulling out. It's Sunday morning, which means advanced elements of the Allied side are just a couple days away from pulling into the D-Day Park's camping area. Their first duty will be to trim the grass in their designated camp area, as well as mark it off. Once they've accomplished that they'll start walking the field to see what's new in the way of roads and buildings. As more members of each unit arrive some will set up field kitchens, while others keep an eye as the vendors start setting up shop. By this time next Sunday the camp will be a buzz with activity in anticipation of the first mini scenario on Monday the 10th. After that things kick up a notch as units start running daily field hikes to insure everyone knows their way around. Each night the number of players will grow and by Wednesday the entire 100 acre camp area will sport a variety of large fireworks vendor sized tents, campers, RV's, and small pup tents. Wednesday is also when they stage the Obstacle Course, which typically draws at least several hundred participants. Somewhere in between players will also find time to take part in an off park Machine Gun Shoot, as well as in a 3 gun match sponsored by Tippmann. Thursday brings two more mini events as well as a insane night game. Then it's Friday and you start to ask yourself where the week has gone, but there's no time to dwell on that as you'll be forming up for the parade and the opening ceremony. Then on Friday night the packets with the unit's orders will be opened and everyone see where they're going to be starting from. Some units, like the OSS will be up well before dawn so they can settle into their hiding places long before anyone else even notices they've left. Then it's 0900 and the game is on and before you know it it's 1700. The horn sounds and it's time to tally the points and gather one last time at the stage for the word on who won. For many the day isn't over, cause it'll be time to finish packing as they have to make the trip back so they can be at work on Monday, but for some it'll be time to either party and toast one another, or to cry in their beer. Then, in just a week or so the whole process will start all over again for 2014.

As I noted earlier, there's still a few days left to get signed up for what promises to be a great time. Confirmed we've got 4 SAR12s complete with scopes, plus David Williams (Carmatech) and his. All 5 will deploy in the OSS. That alone should make a statement, not withstanding what the rest of our FSR shooting snipers accomplish.
BTW, the CEF just announced they've secured someone to cater their meals. Twelve dollars a day gets breakfast and dinner and sweet tea. If you're interested let me know or drop over to their Facebook page and add your name to the list.

I understand. Heck as it turns out I'm not going to be able to get there this year either. Too many vendors who didn't bite when it came to buying ads for the newspaper. Do me this favor, this is for everyone here. Jump over to the website for Soldiers Of Paint - www.soldiersofpaint.com and order a copy of their newly released video. It took them 5 years to film and edit the footage, at a cost of around 200K. Not like anything you've ever seen, save perhaps on the Military Channel. It tells the story behind the story. Check out the extras only available on the disc and you might even see me in my summer dress outfit from time to time.. Trust me on this, it's worth the cost and who knows, let someone else see it and they may want to join you next June. For those who are planning to go, make sure you tell them you're with the Allied O.S.S. unit. CO for the is Kelly Corem. Just ask anyone and they should be able to tell you where they're encamped.

Angela Lenz, German ForcesOn the road to D-Day........are we there yet? Colt Phoenix Dickerson, CEFIs there going to be a pinup girl contest this year at D-Day? If so, I'll be bringing some pinup costumes if any ladies would want to borrow them for the contest. I'll have a retro dress, retro one piece swimsuit and three military themed pinup outfits. The only thing you'll need to provide is shoes. PM me if you're interested or take a look at Irish Lens Photography and you can see a couple of the outfits in my Pinups and Paintball album. I'll also be taking pre-orders at D-Day for the 2014 Pinups and Paintball Calendar. Cheers! Roy BurgerNo matter what side ya'll choose to play, I hope everyone has a safe drive. Jack Wolf, 899th TDBWishing not only my team 'The Bad Monkey' a safe trip but to all brother and sisters on there way to D-Day drive safe. Trey Irby This is going to be the first year they have 2 mini games per day, which is going to be awesome... tiring, but awesome. I'm a bit older, so I'll forego the games on Friday to prepare for Saturday, but they are all fun. V2 Event is a pretty compact area, so there's lots of action. Operation Sea Lion is very cathartic for the 1st ID. Bottom line is you can't go wrong... just budget your paint so you don't run out by Saturday. Caleb Zitek, CEFMe and my dad are leaving on Sunday and will be there Monday. Looking forward to this year as it may be my last. next year, I'm joining the Army as an 89D (Explosive Ordinance Disposal) the guys who blow up IED's. I am excited but i will miss coming. The CEF will always have a special place in my heart. LETS MAKE IT A KICK *** YEAR HUZZAH!!!!!! Chris NeighborsI woke up this morning jittery, feeling like I had some place to be... then I realized it was because DDAY is ONLY 6 DAYS, 16 HOURS, 55 MINUTES and 10 SECONDS AWAY!!!! Remember, there's still time to join these folks. Don't be the one who has to read about it, be there and make some history of your own!

D-Day 2013 Photo Show Starting with this post I'll be attempting to bring you as many photos and video clips from this event as possible. I'll also be posting frequent updates from individual players as they pass them along to me. Remember, if you're not doing anything next Saturday there's still plenty of time to get out to Wyandotte for D-Day 2013. s678.photobucket.com/user/dorsai_2009/library/oklahoma%20D-Day%202013

FIELD REPORT 1
Travis Posey82nd AB Commander
Monday T.O.G. - Battle for Caen: This was a game of capture and change the flag (2 color PVC pipe on a t-post). They had 5 flags 3 in the middle of Caen spread around and 1 within 80 feet of respawn. Game on the Commonwealth Forces hard charged the left flank while the 82nd hard charged the right flank. Results we took the city in record time, capturing all flag stations within 5 minutes. We repelled multiple German counter attacks and pushed them back to their flag. Game was reset after 30 minutes.
Game 2. The Germans got their act together and advanced more quickly occupying the whole of Caen. 82nd AB again maneuver up the east flank and broke through their lines and got in behind the Germans and it was quick clean up.
After another hour, everyone was tired and hot and low on logistics (paint/air/water) and there were no more Germans to shoot. They called the game.
82nd AB performed outstanding. Firing and maneuvering and securing our objectives. So pumped this year and so excited about the rest of you coming out.
Its going to be tough for the Germans this year having to deal with us!
Seeker shot video, which he'll probably upload post event.
Sam Kinnett
