2013 Oklahoma D-Day

Might have found a rider from Phoenix to split costs with me so I am looking at booking the event now. Do we know more about reserving FS rounds yet ? Need more info on my placing (Allied I assume ?) Looking for a long range role of course. My son might come too.

I spoke to Justin with Tiberis on Thursday and he assured
me they'll be there. As to how the Bunker plans to handle
the sales of FS, I'm being told they'll be selling it out of
their store, which is right next to their D-Day Café.

Normally you'd buy 'paint tickets in their 'registration bldg,'
then you go over to the semi and exchange them for bags
of paint, but I'm guess because Tiberius has worked out
a special deal with Tiberius they're handling those sales
on their own, rather than through Valken, which holds
the contract for normal and AT paint pellet sales.

If you son, or for that matter anyone else comes and
isn't interested in playing all they need is buy a camp
area pass, which costs like 5-6 bucks. That gives them
access to the camp and showers for their entire stay.
That also helps cover cost of trash pickup/disposal &
port-a-john servicing as well.

As to which unit to sign up for? That depends on what
sort of shape you're in. Honestly, if your legs are up
to humping over some pretty rough terrain I'd suggest
hooking up with either the 101st or the 82nd Airborne
Divisions. If you want a more laid back group, but still
one that sees plenty of action, consider joining the Free
French and if you like hanging out with a bunch of half
crazy maroon shirted, maroon beret wearing hard
chargers go with the Commonwealth, and within that
group pick their airborne unit. I say this because they
have to secure Pegasus Bridge (real bridge) and then
hold it. If they don't hold it the British Armor Corps
can't move their tanks beyond it. Sounds dumb, but
that's the how it was in 44. One of the perks of being
in the CEF is the fact they also know how to party and
by that I mean they actually stock & run a bar they
refer to as "The **** and Beaver Bar."

Of course these are just a couple options, others
include a new, reorganized group made up of the
1st, 2nd and 5th Rangers. Acting as one unit the
group is led by Taylor Hamblin. Taylor is Capt. of
the Univ. of S. Dakota speedball team as well as
a 4 time D-Day veteran, so he knows how to run
things. In fact there's not a unit leader who hasn't
been here at least 4-5 and in some cases 10 or
more. The guy running the CEF, Sir Ray, has
run his unit going on 11 years, so you won't find
some wet nosed kid telling you what to do.

One more point I also wanted to address, that's
the business of radios. I think some of you have
your own, but you'll be in for a real surprise when
you see how involved we are when it comes to
comms. We run in the UHF business band. We
also have our own resident ham specialist, radio
gear head type, so if anyone has questions on
radios, let me know and I'll put you in touch with
him.

I strongly suggest that each sniper/team have their
own radio, so you can be linked to your unit's CO.
I hear the Chinese radios most or moving to buy
cost around 45 bucks. They're Baofeng UV-5R HT
units, which come with cheap headset, charger,
battery, case. If anyone is interested, let me
know and I'll hook you up with Kelly, who also
heads up the OSS. Kelly is a ret'd. AF Combat
Coms guy with 18 years experience.

How well those radios work? They look really good way better than any crap you can buy from a sports store. Also, does it accept other accesories or just the one it comes with?

What I can tell you is that our O.S.S. contingent has required that everyone
in their unit buy one. They used them last year and had zero problems with
them. If you need more input on them, or want to learn where you can find
them for around $40.00, drop Kelly a note c/o [e-mail]. As
to your second question, I understand they accept other types of headsets,
besides the one they come with and there's also a longer life battery that's
also available.

In most paintball events you're lucky if you see a note
from either side's CO, asking you to join him defeat the
other guys, but at D-Day it's not at all unusual to see
members of specific units on both sides calling for you
to join their unit. The following is just one such post
by a member of the Commonwealth Expeditionary Force.

everyone has an important job to do. So you have to ask

Finally, is you're still unsure as to which unit to
join, consider becoming part of our O.S.S. unit.
They function across the entire field. They will
be outfitted with (4) SAR-12s and have some
highly experienced members who can provide
the needed backup, if necessary.

FOG OF WAR

If your buddies bring (5) new players as a group
the 6th (1) player is free. You HAVE to register by
calling in that group. It actually is on the D-Day
forum someplace and it has been in play for years.
Some units have used it well and I wish more would.

together when you can and get an extra...again, 5
new players get 1 new player free for a total of 6.

Finally, the cut off before they raise the entry fee is
April 30th. On May 1st the rate goes up to $100.00.

OK D-Day 2013 Full Auto Shoot



The CEF will be hosting a military style full auto gun shoot
at OK D-Day 2013 on Wednesday, June 12 and is open to
everyone attending OK D-Day 2013.

It will start at about 9:30 AM and will end at about 2:30 PM.
You do not have to be there for the entire time. The convoy
to the range will leave the Commonwealth compound at 9:00
AM, so don't be late. Please bring your own vehicle or make
arrangements to ride with someone. You may also want to
bring something to drink or eat. The rain date will be Thursday
June 10.

This shoot is open to anyone 12 years old and older. Minors
under 18 years old MUST be accompanied by a LEGAL parent
or guardian. No Exceptions. Please don't ask if 11 years and
11 months is close enough, because it isn't. Have proof of age,
just in case the question comes up. A legal guardian must be
authorized by law and documented by the court to represent
the minor in all decisions pertaining to the minor. The father
of a friend or older sibling is not good enough. The father of
a friend or older sibling holding a legal guardianship document
from a court of law is perfect.

For 2013, the cost to register is $85 and you have to buy the
rounds on site. The registration fee allows you to shoot any
of the weapons offered. If we don’t hit 30 shooters by May 10,
the shoot will be called off and I will refund all monies.

The cost of the rounds is extremely reasonable and offsets
the initial registration fee. Rounds are cash only. You may
not bring your own real steel or bullets, but you can show
up and take all the pics and video you want, at no charge.

We feature various household appliances and cars for the
shooters to blow up. Yes, I said BLOW UP.

If you wish to do any kneeling, squatting or prone shooting,
bring some sort of pad.

There will be no off-hand or Rambo style shooting. Anyone
found to be acting in an irresponsible manner will have their
shooting day terminated, their rounds confiscated and they
will be escorted off of the range, without a refund of any kind.

These are last years prices, but they shouldn't be too much
different for this year. I will post up the current prices on
belt fed rounds and loose rounds, as soon as I know them.
Please don’t comment on whether you could buy the rounds
cheaper than anyone else or that you were/are in the military
and you had enough of shooting. This is the man’s living. If
you have a Class III license, a couple of machine guns and
10,000 rounds at $.001 each, then lucky you.
