Carmatech Engineering SAR12 Update News - Latest Friday, 19 October 2012 09:34
We are happy to report our BTT (Beta Test Team) has given us great feedback on the Beta SAR12's and we have decided to implement some changes immediately that will result in a higher performing product. Further we want to give the worldwide team more time than previously planned to really put the SAR12 though the motions in numerous climates, altitudes and conditions. That being said we ar e going to push back our Winter 2012 release and reschedule it to February 2013 so these changes can be implemented. Some will be sad they will not be able to get their own SAR12 this holiday season but we feel that this is the right thing to do. By extending our Beta field test we are ensuring a higher standard will be attained that you all rightfully have. Thank you for your understanding.

Their latest update on FB: "Great time meeting some Btt members and their fellow teammate at Fulda Gap. Mark F. was a crack shot this weekend, posting head shots at or farther than 125 yards which we will be posting video of shortly. We also would like to apologize as we have made claims that we must retract. To date we have posted and claimed that the bolt action shoots 130 shots per 13/3000 ninja tank. This is not accurate as the true shot per tank seems to exceed 200. We apologize in advance for the misinformation. Thanks!" www.facebook.com/Sar12paintballsniper?fref=ts

Like the stampeding hoofs of a thousand horses, the chain rained down. Relentless and methodical. The hand, clad in black layered leather and index steadily on it's rest, worked its brutal magic. At once ethereally united with the chain, yet somehow distant. Clearly it had purpose, blow after well placed blow would attest to that, yet it lacked any sense of conscious or remorse. This was not personal, not like it had been before; this had become routine – a task to be accomplished, a check box on a to-do list. Clearly this hand, this marker, had done this before, and clearly it would do it again. A different time, a different place, same result. The Carmatech SAR-12 – A Legacy of Brutality. 'Black Friday' The wait has been long but none the less well worth each day. Carmatech Engineering is a company that strives for perfection in it's products and customer service, having such a nice piece of their work in my hands only complements this. Each part of the SAR-12 marker is designed and made in the USA. This is a Beta model so production models may differ slightly. Please feel free to ask any questions about this marker as I will do my best to answer what I can for you. I will be making updates as I can so be sure to subscribe. more pictuers to follow...

I am using the Falcon Industries Ergo Grip 4055 Deluxe. It's big, but fitting and comfortable.

I have a question for those who have this. (Fixxxer, if you could please). What are the size comparisons of the magazines of the SAR12 in comparison to, say, an AR-15 magazine. Specifically the width. I would like to get a feel for whether or not these magazines can fit into a standard vest pouch built for the AR-15 mags or if I will have to get custom pouches made to hold these magazines once I get mine. Thanks a bunch.

So Carmatech has a new, updated website for all to see. They are planning on selling three different platforms of the SAR 12. It all can be seen here. www.carmatech.netNow to rant. First thing I noticed on this website while looking through the products was that you must buy the semi auto bolt assembly separately, and the marker only comes with the bolt action platform. That really disappoints me. With all their hype, their marketing, saying that you would get both engines with the purchase of the marker, just to split them and sell them separately at the last minute really puts a bad taste in my mouth, especially since Sonny Lopez is backing this marker. Now don't get me wrong. It's not going to put me off of getting this marker, but it leaves me thinking and wondering what else they changed at the last second, you know? That really isn't a good way to make a first impression with your clients, especially since they are really pushing this marker. If it was due to cost, or some other legitimate reason, then that is fine, but don't walk around promising something just to pull it out at the last minute with no explanations. On the plus side, I noticed that the 20" hammerhead barrel will be for sale separately through the website. That is good for those who would really like a longer barrel than the 16" that is offered through Hammerhead. Now here is my question. Is this barrel made in the same way as all the other barrels from HH i.e. the length of the advertised barrel is actually with the tip (which would make this barrel 17", not 20). I would assume that this is the case, seeing as I can find no reason why HH would deviate from their normal operand um when it comes to their barrels. The site is well made, and flows nicely. They don't have a whole lot in their product section aside from the magazines, markers, and the barrel. (We were promised several different lengths of shrouds as well). One thing I did really like is that the scope they sell is the XB30 from Hawke. As we all know, that is a crossbow scope and is way better suited to paintball than other scopes on the market. I have yet to compare their price to the Hawke website or other sources like ebay, but I am sure that the price is comparable no matter what site you search at. One thing I really liked was that in the FAQs, one of the questions was what color schemes this marker can come it. The response was that they can make it any color or design you want, you would just have to contact them to figure price. They also offer laser etching of the marker to make it even more unique and suited to each individual. I really like that, as laser etching an expensive marker like this would really help deter theft to an extent. Overall, things are looking good for Carmatech. I was informed that the markers should be released at the end of February. This is good news, seeing as it is slightly ahead of their scheduled release of Spring 2013 by about a month or so. It really shows that Carmatech is trying to get these markers out on schedule and not have stupid or costly delays that other hyped up markers sometimes have. I am really excited and should have mine on order this weekend. Once I get it, I will do some accuracy tests with the 20" barrel, as well as have a complete and in depth review including pictures, measurements, and as much information as I can gather. Don't worry Chicago. Once I see how the barrel performs, it will be cleaned and packaged neatly and comfortably and sent UPS 2 day directly to your door step, as promised. ^_^

Fixxxer, would it be possible to give me a run down on marker? Like, accuracy results, ease of maintenance, workability, comfort, weight, sound signature, etc? I havent read many reviews from people who have beta test models, and the only accuracy video I could find was removed from Youtube. I know I am going to have loads of fun with this, but I would like a little more information so I am not going into this blindly.
Thanks for the info on the mags. I have 4 coming with the marker, as well as pouches for each. ^_^
