In my mind the sniper role is a whole package, stealth, recon, long range precision, patience and skill to adapt and be efficient in the situation at hand. I'v been in situations where my FS platform has not been on hand and I'v used a stock rental T-98 to do the job, with all the sneaking involved and the target selection process and the fact that I had another mindset thx to adapting my play style, did i fulfill a sniper role, yes, I'd like to think so.
Could I'v had gotten of better in some situations with a FS platform? yes probably. Was the stock 98 capable of doing the job? You guessed it, yes it delivered.
To argue about personal preference is all fine and dandy, but facts are facts, and different platforms do the job in different manners however all this amounts to nothing if the operator is not skilled with his tools. In the end it's the man, not the tool that does the job, and it is the end result that counts.
Sniping is more than excellent marksmanship (tho essential), it's a mindset.
Hope I haven't offended anyone with my rant and as White Feather so nicely put it
"Damn the haters and just play your game the way you want however you can."

Over 60,000 views in three months... This is now one of the top "paintball sniper" videos on youtube... www.youtube.com/watch?v=meh6IG0snFEAnd I was using my Tippmann A-5... I decided to make a video to show how I hunt when playing at my teams "sniper/assassin". Funny because I never say I am a "sniper" but I get called that just about every time I play... (Oh, I was using my custom MonsterSpin barrel system in that video which is a new style flatline with an Apex 2 tip on the end, set at 4 clicks, it allows me to shoot extremely flat out to 125 feet. Which in the woods makes a huge difference, as I can look and see a path through the brush, and fire and my paint will stay in that open area all the way to my target! Without having to aim up and have the paint drop over the distance like other paintballs... (even first strikes can't shoot "flat" like this).
