I agree with that. I don't want first strikes to get a bad name or get band anywhere else. I could live with the restriction from any field that First Strike can be used manually or in semi-auto only!

Still probably the same problem with chronoing though.....if only there was a way around that and make both first strikes and regular paintballs shoot at the same velocity....

Honestly it doesn't hurt more getting hit by 5 first strikes then it would regular paintballs. As for chronoing it's not really a huge problem, just chrono your marker using First strikes. Sure your normal paintballs will have a bit lower fps but you never have to worry about any of them shooting hot. I really really like the look of the marker, The question is only it's price (considering it's Dye) and how the hell anyone could afford full-auto first strikes

I'm not as concerned about the individual strikes (which I agree, I've been hit by a first strike (voodooaddict) - it was no more painful and left less of a mark). What I'm concerned with, is the pattern!
In all my years in this sport, in many semi-pro games, I've been bunkered once or twice at close range. But, I've never had one land right on top of the other and the entire group in a pattern that will be less than the size of your fist. Ten fully automatic at close range concerns me. We are all not mature enough to be given tools of mass destruction to use.
How's that going to look and feel afterward? Imagine the online photos. Welts from regular paint balls sometimes look extremely bad (and those are usually, single hits or a group of 3 or 4 spread over some one's entire back).
These new photos we'll see (of automatic first strike groupings) will most likely get First Strikes banned in the States. Over here, states are doing that now and that's without the pictures of welts caused by fully automatic, tight groupings of first strikes in a group of ten! I'm betting and I don't want to try it. That's going to really hurt!
Don't get me wrong, I love the game, I love first strikes, and I've always wanted to try fully automatic first strikes. I think shooting it would be cool but very, very experience. You could, if you practiced, go thru a 100 count box of first strikes in less than 20 seconds.
I'd love to try it; but I'd be fine (in fact I'd feel safer myself) if fields limited First Strike to semi-auto. Yes, there will be cheaters, there always are; and, they will fire hot as well; but, the fields have gotten better about catching those jerks and kicking them off the field the first time and banning them the second time.

Your right about the groupings (though i really doubt someone skilled enough to put the First strikes on top of each other will use full-auto). I've had about 15 normal paintballs hit me in about a 3 inch pattern before (and those were not the only hits i got that time... DON'T RUSH in huge scenario games 44 hits in like 2 seconds..) and honestly it doesn't really hurt much, the first hit sort of numbs you to all the others. Does leave a rather nasty mark though, can't argue with that. I think it'll be fine until some brainiac decide that we all need 200 round hoppers for full auto first strikes. When that happens were fucked. Despite that i think the general rule that on most fields that first strikes can only be used with semi is a good idea. At least for normal woodsball, For scenarios i think you should be allowed full-auto if you really wish to use it.

In case the D-mags should come out sometime...everybody with a Tacamokit and an egrip will be able to shoot FA FSR
I can think of a 3 shot burst being a slight advantage but FA...?hm

At all the fields around here, you can't use full auto even with paintballs....it's semi-auto only. Also when bunkering, you should be close enough to place all the shots in the same pattern regardless of first strike or regular paintballs....and at the price of first strikes along with the limited number in the mag before you have to flip it, it would be very foolish to blow your whole wad knowing they have plenty left in case you do miss or there are multiple targets.
The main advantage I see is with 10 rounds in about a second, hopefully at least one will break....I don't know how many times I hit just to find out it didn't break and the target jumps behind cover and I'm left laying in the open....

Chicago, If you're ever in Seattle, look me up. You can shoot my marker in Full Auto using first strikes any time.
I personally have never used first strike in full auto aimed at anyone but it is a comfort knowing the feature is available if I ever needed it. I am also very careful who I show it to. Being a first strike user, I pride myself as an ambassador of this round while at the same time, I am careful that I don't show it off to people who are closed minded and players are who are set in their ways.
In regards to the Dye Dam, I applaud Dye for creating a high end magfed gun. The more choices we have in first strike guns, the more we win as a group.

I love the discussion above, but I don't personally think FA FS will be a big deal. I know I personally don't have the money to waste shooting 10 first strikes (or $4) in one second.

I feel like if it becomes an issue fields are just going to make it semi-auto only for FS rounds.
My other issue with all these new FS ready markers is I want to know if these companies are making specialized bolts to match the FS rounds nicely. For example...the Tiberius bolts have a smaller bolt face that hits the paint part of the FS rather than the fins. When you put FS through a Tippmann, I know they don't have specialized bolts so the bolt face is hitting the fins possibly deforming/breaking them and ruining the flight path. I don't know about this new Dye marker, but I feel like it is the same issue.

If this marker sells enough, maybe we'll after market accessory that will include a first strike dedicated bolt.

Rap4 has said they will release a after market bolt that fits the FSRs better with the Dmags. I think they will be making a announcement on the release date in the next few weeks.
