sounds like a very nice setup you're building. Some of the questions you had. The HPA ain't set to 480 psi when you get it, but the regulator you get does give you the option of changing it. Also when shooting first strikes i'd suggest going atleast upto 280 fps. First strikes doesn't have the same problems that normal paintball have. what i mean by that is that the air pressure doesn't reshape or dimple first strikes. So a higher fps simply means longer range and a somewhat faster projectile without sacrificing accuracy. I play at 280 myself just because i don't want to risk ever shooting a hot round, and it's abit more quiet then 300 fps but atleast in theory you should try and get as close to the legal limit as you safely can. When i comes to barrels i absolutely love my Lapco rifled .683. it's accuracy is amazing and i've never encountered a drop off like some others. Despite this i'd probably recommend a Hammerhead anyway. The reason for this is simple. It's a more all round barrel. The lapco rifled is great with first strikes but i can't recommend trying to shoot normal paintballs through it. The hammerhead on the other hand can shoot anything. This ofcourse is just my thoughts

I will be shooting FS rounds ONLY through the T9.1, so Lapco is where I am leaning.
Correction, I 1st posted just opposite. No FS rounds, sorry bout that typo.

T9.1 I will be shooting FS only... why the hammerhead ? Please give reason :-)

I've shot both out of the same T9.1. The hammerhead is better, more effecient and accurate and consistent. I shoot FS only as well. But, if you needed to you can shot roundies (like when you want to break in a new reg (withoug wasting a lot of paint!) I thought and had a Tiberius/Lapco 14 long before Hammerhead; but in a heads up test where only the barrel was changed (and the chrono adjust to make the velocity the same - cause unfortunately but true, you really have to crank up the internal reg to get a first strike to get all the way thru the barrel - really).

You shouldnt have mentioned velocities... now you must give your findings :-)
Please specify whether your making regulator adjustments or marker (chrono) adjustments (or both) ?

snipertalk.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=upgrades&thread=469&page=1Try this thread. It talks about velocity with chrono adjustment and different barrel manufactures. Up til recently, (recent is a relative term), I felt one of the best barrels ever was the smooth bore one piece 14 inch barrel by Flasc. And, of course, I used their bore kits too; so, the other barrel was the FLASC 9 inch with gen II porting and a 0.687 5 inch bore (makeing the overall length 14 inches). But, the Tiberius/lapco 14 0.683 came in second to the Hammerhead 14 inch 0.688. That was after extensive testing. See the thread here that I porvided for those details you crave!

My biggest concern with the .683 lapco barrel I had was the noise signature it made. I notice that because I had to crank the velocity up to get it to shoot 280fps, that it ended up being louder than the stock barrel. Has anyone else had this issue or noticed this as well?
I also agree with Chicago on the HH. Lapco is nice, but I always had that drop off problem, not to mention the residue in the barrel and the increased noise from having to crank the reg up to get it to shoot 280. From what I read on this and other forums, it seems that the best bore size for the FS rounds is .686-.688 in terms of consistent velocity as well as accuracy. I fully plan on running HH barrels on my long range rig. While Flasc makes amazing barrels, I figure that if you are going to fire a finned round that rotates, that you should use a rifled barrel to aid in twisting the round to increase accuracy, especially if you are playing a sniper role. (Which, lets face it, everyone on here pretty much plays a sniper role, or we wouldnt be on these forums. lol)
Since the topic of this thread is complete set up, I figured I would share what I plan on doing with mine come February.
Long Range Rifle: SAR 12 bolt action
8"Hammer Head Widowmaker barrel (.686) with 8" Lapco Hush shot barrel extension and Hammerhead M-50 Muzzle break.
Hawke XB1 Crossbow scope on military .8" riser. (I know most run the Killjoy APR, but I figured since I am using a scope specifically made for the ranges I will be shooting, there should be no reason to adjust the riser once I have the scope sighted in, so I plan on just hard mounting it to the rifle with no adjustable riser). The only way I would use an APR is if I mounted it and got it sighted in, but had very little MOA to adjust for longer ranges. I know that is an issue for some out there. If that is the case, I plan on getting a HHA optimizer speed dial like the one Chicago has on his SR1.
Ninja 13ci/3000psi tank.
SWAT low profile bipod
Midrange Rifle: Milsig Paradigm Pro
The only thing I plan on doing to this rifle is put a low profile bipod and a Hawke XB 3x32 scope on it, mounted the same way as the SAR. I have seen accuracy test videos with the Milsig using the stock Marksman 14" barrel and FS rounds and let me tell you, they were very impressive groupings. Here is a link to Necro's video of shooting the Paradigm pro at 50yds and 90yds without sighting in his scope, prone with bipod, and the stock marksman barrel. It is rather impressive (action starts at 3:10). I know he was aiming center mass on the board at 90yds and consistently shot low, but he didn't have his scope sighted in, and the groupings were still consistent, so I attribute the low shooting to the unsighted scope. I can't wait to get mine and really see what kind of accuracy I can get out of it with everything perfect. ^_^

I am going over my gear thinking I should use a 8.1 as a back up for magazine reasons. Now I carry 3 mags for my 9.1 and 1 for my 8.0(1 in the hole).I love that 8.0 and really isn't a big just more compartmentlized. When I play pistol I use all 8.0 mags.

think its time for a complete setup 2013 since 2012 almost is over. though it could be usefully to wait till after the 21st (cause you never know and it would be a shame to make a thread about a year that never arrives ^^)

Its not 2013 yet ! So I have read that link till I'm red in the eyes. Sorry Chicago but you tend to ramble and I'm dyslexic If I were to choose HH its only 11.5 inches so (still didnt understand this entirely from the reading) the T9.1 front shroud will not fit. Is that correct ? If so then a foregrip and my possible idea of mounting tank under front or on side to accommodate a rocstock is a no-go. Please advise

I'll do it with pictures. Yes, you are right hammerhead (HH) measurement are always given with the tip on, that's how they get away with calling it a 14 inch! You are correct, the standard shroud will not fit. But, you can mount a comfortable grip and on the side accommodate a Roc Stock from Killjoy: First pix, my T9.1 ( the silent angel) with very comfortable magpul light weight foregrip: Second pix, silent angel, my mid range gun with Hawke XB30 crossbow scope and killjoy Roc Stock: And, finally a full profile shot of the Tiberius T9.1: That profile includes that 11.5 inch rifled HH and the FLASC suppressor. That's why she's called the "silent" angel! and, if you look carefully, there is a "compsensator" in the front. That allows me to add the bipod as well. Why don't I use a killjoy compensator. I'm sure it would work but they came out after I got this setup and just could not justify the additional cost. The Killjoy would probably work and look a lot better. There is nothing more accurate! I luv this marker and I luv lending it out to others. p.s. from that setup and the last pix, I think there is room to mount a 13 cc tank in the side of the marker using the same method I used on the long range CCM SR1 prototype I have. We call her the silent ghost becasue she specializes in taking out enemy snipers. (I do use a remote on the T9.1 as shown; but may be next year I'll build the T9.1 out like I did the SR1). So, here's a pix of a 8 cc mounted on the side of my SR1: It's true pictures are worth a thousand words and I do ramble. Good luck on whatever you try!

Back to HH or Lapco FSR riffled barrel choice... Chicago (or anyone): do you think the HH would fit in the T9.1 front shroud if you had it milled out some ? I know this seems like strangeness however I really like the front shroud and *think* I would like to go the HH riffled barrel (686, larger bore than Lapco FSR). Unless it could be milled out so the HH fits in it Im going with the Lapco.

From my measurements, if you are using what they call a 14 inch barrel for a Tiberius T9.1 from Hammerhead (which by the way is only available in 0.688), the barrel looks like it sticks out the front shroud by about an inch. I didn't use a caliper just a handheld ruler. And, I did take mine apart or mount the front shroud; but, I measure the distance from the front of my marker (I no longer use a front shroud), to the tip of the hammmerhead and I got 6 inches. So, that's another way to judge.

OK, thanks. I was looking at chopping up my shroud a little... shorten it an inch or 2, then bore/drill out the diameter if its needed. Both mods for the 686 HH which I think is 11.5 inches long.
But your right , I just went out to rockstar and it is 688, as well it DOES NOT state if its riffled or not.
Oh well. Im ordering the Lapso FSR barrel. I might try the hammerhead option later.

I was interested in the Lapco Rifled FSR Barrel, but as I use 12 grams exclusively I assume that my efficiency will decrease quite a bit (due to underbore). I already will be spending a fortune on First Strikes, and do not want my 12 grams to only last 2 mags instead of 3. I've also heard that the small bore can cause First Strikes to break in the barrel.
Does anyone have experience with this barrel that says otherwise? I am leaning towards getting the Hammerhead 11.5" but I want to use the T9.1 shroud. Has anyone tried the Lapco Str8 Shot .686? It's 15" (without tip", which is closer to the length I want.

There isnt much of a concern with breaks, as when I owned a 9.1, I did not have any breaks. The problem I had with the FSR barrel from Lapco was when using CO2, I got the drop off issue more and more often. It was only when I switched to HPA that I got better consistency and the drop off problem went away (mostly). The FSR is a very accurate barrel. Some people love it and will use no other. Others prefer HH or Flasc. It's all up to you and your preference. There are people on here who have had great experiences with each barrel. My opinion, personally, is that if you will be using 12 grams exclusively, I would recommend using a slightly bigger bore barrel, like a HH. I never had good consistency with 12 grams out of the Lapco barrel, and it only got better when I used HPA. If you are stuck on the Lapco, I would highly recommend HPA. If not, I'd suggest a bigger bore. Just my 2 cents.
