Update - @ skullcandy: do not know if the are straight or staggered in magazine Update - @ skullcandy: I'm a little disappointed in you. They say the D-mag kits are now out and you were not the first to let me know. You are always in top of everything. That's why you are the man, the Mr. SkullCandy, sir dude.
Well you know that I am usually an earlier adopter or a tester; but, I stayed away from the RAP4 stuff.
This is all hearsay, underestand. I heard this second hand, but the D-mags are now and available - YES.
However, what I heard frightened me a little. The D-mags only work in special D-mag conversion kits or you need to make mods (spend even more on the D-mag conversion/conversion kit to make the old conversion kits work). That's one of the reasons I waited.
Anyway, as soon as I hear something positive about their actual use and how the D-mags themselves are actually shaped, I plan on buying a brand new electronic phenom; the new D-mag conversion kit, and an AK47 real wood set up from Tacomo the people who really make the D-mags. I can't afford it; so, I am going to be selling either my deadly accurate and efficient the Mp7 (aka "silent knight"). Or, my t9.1 with riffled 14inch barrel and silenced marker (aka the "deaf leopard.") Which would you suggest. I can't really part with either they are like my children (only not as much a problem as the human ones).
oh, and one more thing, the new D-mags are not compatible with the old "new mags." Don't know why, that's just what I heard. Anyone else who knows something new, please jump in here!

I thought it important to steal Awwshoot's post from the Tib forum:
"Yes you will need to replace the magwell in order to use the D-Mags and no the current New 20 round mags will not work in the new D-Mag magwell.
RAP4 has been posting on the X7OG.net and filling us in on and off. DMags Cost RAP4 - we are shooting for the Dmag pack of ten for about $50ish. The starter kit has 10 x Dmag + mag well is about $10ish more than the pack of Dmag D-Mag well design RAP4 - The mag release for MKV Series is a paddle design so you can truly take advantage of the gap between trigger and D-Mag-Well making it ambidextrous
Rap4 later stated that the Phenom D-Mag Magwell will stay with the M4 style release instead of the paddle release the others are going to.
RAP4 Facebook page reply to a question 11/29 RAP4 - Real Action Paintball There will be 3 different size D-Mag: small D-Mag - capacity: 14 rounds, medium or standard D-Mag - capacity: 20 rounds, and large D-Mag - capacity: 30 rounds. The one shown in youtube video a while back is a small D-Mag. The one shown in the current picture is standard D-Mag. The large D-Mag has not been shown yet. For release date, please refer to the post above. More info and video to follow shortly
So basically in time we will have the ability to carry 30 FS rounds in a magazine! That means you can carry $12 in First Strike rounds in a $5 magazine! LOL That's a pretty expensive loadout! Hope the prices come down more for the First Strikes as more and more people are able o use them!

I haven't jumped. I belong to the tippman forum (but I'm a little more laid back there - let out all my frustrations here ). With all the problems I see there (like with the detents, etc) I'm not convinced. Don't get me wrong, I see reports on other forum even about tib markers so I'm not singling them out. But where the problem is, in the breach and the fact that it takes so much cutting, polishing and fine tuning that I'm not dropping big bucks until I see more direct from factory out of the box working units! I had such great hopes for FS compatible mag fed markers; but only Tiberius so far seems to work right (once you get them to send you all the screws and washers to go with the marker). When I see people on youtube with Tacacoma/CRAP4 kits with real "crowbars" sitting next to them in order to assemble and disassemble a marker. I feel that is a red flag. When I see them disassembling and removing the nubin all together or trying out multiple nubins to they cut one that doesn't get caught on the bolt. That is a red flag. When I still haven't seen a D-mag or two fired on youtube, that too, is a red flag. Too many red flags for me!So, that was a long way of saying we aren't hearing too much over here in the states either. You aren't missing anything yet.

well, I did get my Test kit this month, and the kits ARE FS capable. The round hole you see in the bottom of the magwell is MUCH larger than a paintball for the top of the mag to fit through. The body is machined with 2 FS ports (bottom and side?).
The new run of bodies are GREAT! fits together clean and all the bits align perfect. I had 2 minor nicks in the powdercoat upon arrival, i've added more since then. The inside really does need a quick polish, and I had a little grief getting the tombstone latch spring to stay, but i'm impressed.
I'll post a review soon, i'm hoping to get it out in the field as soon as I can borrow a mag. For some reason mine didn't come with one.

Well, I finally got tired of waiting (March will mark the start of a third paintball season waiting) for mags that would require me to buy a new gun and then a mag kit. "Bo qu" bucks. Just before Christmas I purchased FS extenders instead; and, according to Xtreme paintball, they will be shipping this Thursday or Friday. Although at first glance, they seemed expense, they give me the capability and almost the same amount of fire power as the cRAP4 stuff that they took people's money for over almost two year ago now.
I figure 4 of these extenders with mags will cost me roughly $300 not including shipping. But "silent knight," my mp7 will never be happier and still in use. If I continued to wait for the "D" mags, I'd end up spending $399 on a phenom, $129 on the conversion kit, not including the mags and other upgrades I would have needed (like a real bolt, barrel, etc.)! So, I figure I saved myself over $500 by going this route, and I'll be playing with them by March of this year. That's right, I said I'd be playing with them by March of this year!
I'm no longer waiting for the D-mags to be out and working! My only regret, I really like the furniture you could shroud the X7 in. I saw one at FoxRiver Games store off the Reagan highway in Chicago. It was so sweet and surprisingly lite weight for a wood stock and fore-grip. My posse wanted it badly...But, that's another story. Any way it was a chick magnet just like my MP7.
Brings a whole new perspective to "sexting on the field." They came to me, I did not have to leave my lair. So, let that be a lesson for the ladies on our forum here. "Stay away from the bad boys with AK47 looking furniture." But, guys with mp7 shrouds and Flasc silencers are still the coolest! Ask any posse...

Skully, did you see the post on Tiberius from VoodooAddict on the new D-mags. So simple. So great to see someone firing it! It is in his poll on "what project" or something like that. Just a little while ago, like today, 2/27/12!

Still do not trust the d-mags at all. The way they're made and the materials used just begs for alot of problems... would be nice IF they would work but i doubt it.

The other day RAP-4 posted a new Armorer's video, but when I went to watch it the screen said it was blocked. They resent it again today and again it came up saying it was blocked, so I contacted them and they adjusted the setting. Here for your review is their first Armorer's video for the 468. youtu.be/ZAnib0O6dcUSincerely,

Are the D-mags really working yet and are they like almost throw away priced? I ask, cause I still see videos for those who must have believed they work now and then they show the latest way to mod them to make them kinda work. Also, I came across a 20 round D-mag today for $38. That's not a throw away mag to me. My tiberius are like $29 so, it seems like the promise from RAP4 has never really been fulfilled. I'm on the fringe so I admit I don't know alot about them. Can someone honestly tell me they work "straight out of the box." And, that you bought them in bulk like 10-12 mags for $30?
