Be aware that last time I talked to Omar at Rap4, the D-mags will not be able to hold 20 FS rounds. The FS rounds don't handle the curve in the mag. While he wouldn't say exactly how many FS rounds it will hold, I'm guessing about 8.

While he wouldn't say exactly how many FS rounds it will hold, I'm guessing about 8. Well, that sucks. If they only hold 8 rounds, why would I switch from the Tiberius mags/markers? I've been dreaming of an electronic 20 round first strike phenom with upgraded delrin bolt and flasc barrel. I almost purchased everything (except the D mags) once or twice now but even held off pre-ordering cause it was like a to good to be true dream (and cause it had RAP4s name on it). Starting to sound like I was right and we've only seen mixed reviews on the mag conversion kits. I'm not buying! Thanks for the update Melkson.

I was selected to be a tester for the Tacamo kits from the MCB forums, still waiting on my test kit. They had some quality issues on the prototype A5 kits. Omar recently returned from China, hopefully things are looking up.

Melkson, is there going to be an non disclosure agreement on testing? I'd love to hear about them.

Just the opposite. We are supposed to test the s**t out of them and post our results on-line. The first prototype a5 kits had mixed reviews, and RAP4 had to have several things re-made. They want the approval of the paintball community to boost the products.

Anything new on the D mags? Still holding my breathe. It's like the prefect set-up is just out of reach. I would probably give up my drugs and posse so I had enough green to purchase this set-up; but, it sounds like it will never materialize this paintball season either. Now, if I were on the Tiberius forum right now, a bunch of die hard Tib nuts would be bashing me right now for complaining that Tiberius hadn't made good on a promise. So, to make me feel like I'm on the Tib forum, come on guys (and you one lady) here, start bashing. Here's my dream set-up: - Tippman electronic x7 phenom
- Tacamo mag conversion kit
- 5 Dmags
- First Strikes only (of course)
- remote air
- bad Karma bolt
- FLASC Suppressor and bore kit
- Real Eotech Holo sight (and maybe the 3x magnifier)
- magpul backup sights and afg
- And world peace
Total cost of setup estimated at $1900 not including world peace, shipping or, applicable taxes (so maybe I should also look at a milsim paradigm for that cost - oh that's right its not FS capable?).

I find it funny that half of the estimated cost is due to the eotech. That sight is 400 minimum then another 100 or so for the magnifier. I think its cool, but my wallet and my mom would be monkey stomping the crap out of me for blowing that much cash on a paintball gun.

HELLo!
I think that he's referring to what you see on pictures #3 and #4, namely the circular hole which the balls pass through. Would make it rather hard for a D-shaped FSR to pass through, without modifications. :-(
Happy snipin'!

Keep in mind. The Kit's breech is FirstStrike compatable...But
The MagWell that comes with the kits is for the Rap4/ Milsig type mags.
The D-mags will use a different MagWell / adapter plate

I believe you; but, that's not what they've implied. They use the breach load to sucker you in and then you'll realize you got to wait longer and buy more stuff to really be able to use First Strikes. I'm not saying this innovation isn't great and that I won't eventually buy it. I'm just waiting til it actually has available what has been implied (including by other things I read, "...the prototypes aren't FS ready; but, the productions ones will be." That was promised long ago but now what's coming out are just paintball compatible - unless you load a first strike one shot at a time thru the breach - that's not first strike ready to me).
I'm figuring that part will be ready next year and cost another arm and a leg. It's almost August and people still haven't gotten their preorder from last year...that's all I'm pointing out.

This was the info I had, when I placed my order (Oct 2010) The Mag-fed Conversion Kits "Breach opening" (not the MagWell) would be FirstStrike.... Compatible (ETA.. April 2011) ;D MagWell will fit Rap4 / MILSIG / BoxMag (s) ;D BTW...I hate Hoppers I would still need to buy D-Mags/MagWell to make the Mag Kit, shoot FirstStrikes. Box(10) D-Mags(20rd) for $50 (ETA...July 2011) D-Mags = Drop-able magazines D-Mags are light - made so you can drop them and not afraid it chipped off or break your wallet. D-Mags are designed differently - it is not the same as the current version D-Mags require $10 adapter for the T68 and Milsig The newer T68 feed adapters are already T68 markers If you have the older version, you just need the feed adapter For you to use the d-mag you will need an adpater This is for both t68 and tacamo mag kits Just to confirm: D-Mags are compatible with first strike What Omar said in his latest video was ..If you wanted to shoot a FS (while using the standard 20 rd.Mag). You can load it through the cyclone cover.

Shouldn't posts about the Mag-Fed Kits be in the other thread? Don't you like it? Fine. That Said ...The D-Mags Are NOT out yet !...(might be a better title for this thread.) Last I heard, the delay has been for legal reasons. At that time, they were in the final stages of the patent process. So ...couple months....maybe?

well its been two more weeks so under sniper rules, I'm allowed to speak again. Saw a utube from rap4. Was not at my house so I don't have details but they were talking about the D-mags and that there are going to be two sizes. 10 or 20 round. other interesting thing, they were straight not curved so that must be how they are going to get by the FS on a curve problem - they just eliminated it. anyone else seen anything more?
