Over on FB a few days back, they posted some great JJRON footage from a recent big game (I forget which). He was sporting a new scope (bushnell something) and cam. I was interested in the setup... but couldn't see it well. Anyone know if he was sporting a riser ? any info appreciated :-)

I know it is a Bushnell Yardage Pro, I have the same one and it works great but is not cheap. I believe he has it on a HHA Optimizer with another riser underneath (I think it's something like a BEC riser) and the camera is mounted beside the scope but I'm not 100% on that.

So looks like some are experimenting with normal scopes and HHA Optimizer in the undercarriage ? Im running with the Hawke XB30 with a KJ adj riser but am not thrilled with this setup. takes a couple shots to zero in and the T9.1 front shroud and Lapco 683 have a little wobble. I am basically thinking of a new sniper platform to that has better loading (mags), solid barrel to marker fit, and easier scoping capabilities.
Thoughts ?

Yeah, the Optimizer is awesome as long as you know the range. The Bushnell Yardage Pro has a built in laser rangefinder so you put your crosshairs on the target, hit a button, and it tells you the exact range. Just dial it onto the Optimizer and you're golden! If you haven't seen my thread about the optimizer mod that I did, check it out....http://snipertalk.proboards.com/thread/925/ultimate-fs-riser-mod . I have my scope set up for 20-110 yards without having to have two adjustable risers.

Yea I think I saw your thread on the optimizer... you customized the wheel Dont have that know or tooling how but certainly would be interested in a step by step. Pmail if you like. I would LIKE to copy that setup if you dont mind... the yardage pro sounds very sweet if its combined with the Optimizer. Built-in range finder, Im drooling, no guesswork, headshots everytime ! I wonder if I could just use a unaltered optimizer and the Yardage pro, get similar results ? UPDATE: just checked the price, ~600 for that scope, WOWZERS. Hmmm maybe I just need the Optimizer and go with walking the field, pacing out different positions...

I have no problem with anyone copying it. It's not looking like CCM is going to make them at this time but it shouldn't be a very complicated job for anyone who knows how to use a CNC machine. With the original Optimizer, you will only get about 35-40 yards of adjustment out of it so if you zero at 30 yards, you can adjust out to about 65-70 yards which isn't bad but since the FS's have an effective range out to a little past 100 yards, it was worth the effort I put into the mod to be able to adjust from 20-110 yards. Yeah, the scope isn't cheap, luckly I was able to find one that had defects in the paint and I got it for about half price.

So any special instructions that I can gather form you or the pics in your thread ? I would need to give something to the CNC shop... like: "increase this grove depth by 1mm" or " continue the curved slot another 5mm's " .
Maybe you already have that in the thread. I will go back and read it carefully... Thanks for the help so far.
TIA
