SAR 12

So I got my SAR 12 in while I was deployed. I have gotten a chance to shoot it a little bit, get it chronoed in, and play with it a little bit. I do have lots to say, but I am at work right now and dont have time to do a huge write up.
I will say that I do have pros and cons about this marker. For some, you will be rather surprised with what I have to say about it. Also, I will be incorporating White Feathers initial construction review in with mine, so you will be getting 2 inputs for this write up. Lets just say that as of right now, I am not overly impressed with the marker and its build. That may change on Friday when I do some in depth accuracy testing with White Feather and actually pit it against my Para Pro. We will have to wait and see.

Not to beat Nessy to the punch, as he will provide a lot more details in his write up, but, I do here by declare that the Milsig Paradigm Pro is the best marker for distance shooting applications. Once a good scope is dialed in and you learn the best settings for the reticles coupled with an HHA optimizer, you can pretty much smash OpFor dome pieces relentlessly.......Just like I did earlier this year with it at Adventure Beach Paintball! Sorry Carmatech, I'm not impressed.
I leave the rest to Nessy.....

think you can share some info about the two markers (fps consistency, barrel and such things)?

Nope, not sayin' nuttin'. I'm gonna let Nessy give you the full skinny after he has some more time to play w/ the SAR12. But, as far as I am concerned, I have deemed the Paradigm Pro in an elite class all it's own.

Oh yeah! I am loving my Paradigm; only thing I could ask for is a 13cuin 4500 psi tank to complement it. Some R&D maybe involved.
The design and pressure FEA simulations are easy enough. A company just needs to step up an invest in the manufacturing and physical testing.

I don't want to throw this thread off topic but just to give some R&D insight on your idea, you would have to thicken the internal wall of the tank so that it would still fit into stocks designed for it, having not changed the outer diameter. The depths to which you would have to thicken the wall would reduce the internal cu to somewhere around 9 or 10. So, is it really worth it? Given the fact that the majority of us are shooting FSR through these markers, the 13cu tank should be more than sufficient to launch all the ammo you might be willing to carry. I was running a 13cu Ninja tank on my dual TiPX pistols and getting around 125 shots before the tank would be empty. Consider that as a measure of knowing how air inefficient Tippmann markers are. Are you really hitting the field with 125 FSR? I mean 6 fully loaded FSR mags for the Paradigm Pro is only 60 rounds. The SAR12 has reversible mags that hold 6 in each channel. If you had 5 or 6 of those you would only be carrying 60-72 rounds, about the same as previous. Personally, I think the 13cu tank suffices just fine for the applications on the platforms we have.

Still looking forward to the review of the Sar12 nessy.
It would also be nice (if you have the time) if you two could make a post/thread about your comparison between the sar12 and paradigm since white feathers first comment made me curious. (with mods, and if possible fps consistency, spread and similar data)

I will get you this updated data as soon as I can get some time to compile it all and do a thorough write up. Currently, we are still in the midst of comparison testing but got some good data this past weekend, which I will pass on. But, in addition to what we did this weekend I am personally bogged down with a lot of stuff from work and home as well as making preparations for the sniper competition Nessy and I will be attending in Sept. On top of all that, I am in the red zone for final preparations on a game I am running at my home field the first week of Oct. As priorities go, I have to choose my battles. Please be patient, I will post as soon as I can get the time for a long backfill.

Sorry for being away for so long, all. As WhiteFeather said, we've done shooting and comparisons, but I just haven't had the time to do a full write up. I have been super busy with work since being back from deployment, and combined with the preps for the sniper competition as well as preparations for WhiteFeather's game in the first week of October, I just haven't had time to look through photos and give a full in depth write up. I promise I will get something up in the next few days.
