Looking to lengthen my 9.1 barrel a bit. Thoughts on the shark tooth ? There isn't anything around on it performance wise.

Men are always worried about performance and length. Just relax and enjoy yourselves. Just remember this and you'll understand a lady's perspective:

No, but. I'll get off the couch and go down stairs now. Glad to see you on. Thought maybe you went to Fox River Games today. They have a reduced rate. But, for me, I've given up playing in snow.

AA, I went down stairs and built it; but, I answered it in a different thread, sorry. thought you might enjoy this one: I don't know if you've noticed; but, I'm partial to green things. I've lost my head over girls before; but, never like that! oh, the answer I think you seek is in the 7/8-20 threading section!

Looking to lengthen my 9.1 barrel a bit. Thoughts on the shark tooth ? There isn't anything around on it performance wise. Isn't the Sharkstooth only 8.5" long? I just finished some very preliminary tests of the 14" Hammerhead Mojo (my standard barrel) and the new 20" Carmatech/Hammerhead barrel and if you can put up with that much extra length I think it is the barrel to have. In the old round paintball days, barrel length didn't mean anything, but I have been wondering for a while whether the rifled barrels with first strike rounds was going to change all that. After this weekend's tests I am beginning to think that longer rifled barrels are going to be the next move to increase accuracy. I am planning on visting CCM next weekend to test a few different rifled barrels and once we have spent the day shooting I will know more. I am 99% sure of what I am going to find. How sure am I? I just ordered a new longer front rail and a Tango Down (gotta love that name) Stubby Vertical Grip to help me better handle the overall longer gun for shooting in unsupported positions.

I'm glad the 20inch Hammerhead didn't let you down. I was just waiting to hear some good news before dropping coin.

Trinity I am talking about getting a shark tooth to add to my current 9.1 barrel(HH 10 inch) for more length.I have no idea on the rifling lineing up with both screwed together,or the id.

I kind if thought that is where you might be going with that. If you're comfortable with 18.5" total length, then you might consider getting the 20" Carmatech for just a few bucks more. If you want to wait a week or so I'll have done more extensive testing on it, although I am pretty sure what the results will show.
I forgot to mention that the longer barrel required me to increase my FPS by about 10 FPS to compensate for the extra length. I am not concerned about efficiency but I know other people are so there is that factor.

I began the process of zeroing my new Nikon M-223 scope today and I dropped back to 30 yards to do the initial zeroing. I know it was thirty yards because the scope has an internal range finder. I was using the 20" Hammerhead and I wanted to see how much bigger the groups got than the ones I was seeing at 20 yards. They didn't get bigger.
I shoot at a heavy sign-metal target in the outline of an upper body and head. Often, the first strikes will break on the target and the ballistic skirts will stay pancaked right to the metal. After I got the scope dialed in I was using the first strike ballistic skirts that were stuck to the target (at 30 yards) as targets and hitting them. Not every time mind you. Sometimes the rounds would hit right next to them, so close that the skirt I was using as a target would drop off the target. Can't wait to do some longer range shooting.
This new barrel and scope combination is just a dream to shoot.

Great to hear. That's exactly how I feel with my T9.1 and exactly what I do. Sometimes, I just see a knot in a tree, I range the distance with my Hawke Xb30. Then fire and hit it. Next shot if it's 30 meters or less is always on the same spot and that's not with my "filtered/sixed/weighed" rounds.
It is as you say, "just a dream to shoot." How are you adjusting the Nikon M-223 for BDC (first strike trajectory at different distances). And, you do have the Nikon version right there are two others out there, the Burris and...

That's a good question and one I never thought to ask before I ordered mine. It is autococker threaded and comes with a .688 fin.

I just realized I hooked up the 8 " lapco hush rather than the Hammerhead Shark. Now, I've got to hook up a Shark to something. Damn.
Sorry for my confusion, I haven't even started drinking tonight!
The Shark is a 8.5 short riffled barrel offered by Hammerhead and appear not to accept any tip. It is nothing like the Lapco Hush which I will be using and reporting on as part of my sound damping system to protect the ears of my fellow ballers.
I shot it three time under load standing in my bare feet in snow on my back deck just to hear the report. Until now, I've been to embarassed to even mention this. It sounded even quieter. But, there was nothing scientific about the test.
ok, I'm lucid again. Time for some Irish Whiskey!

Have to get an adaptor to add it to a HH barrel. I will add it my 8 inch HH and report. Got it for 40 comes with a cocker back 686. This will go well with cheapest edition of the sar12 I plan on getting this summer.
