I was wondering if they are useful. I assume so, with FS at least. so my real question is what length of legs do you guys use? I have seen 6-9, 9-13 and longer. Also what brands are good, not looking to spend more then i need too, but I assume swiveling is helpful. Any input be great, thanks!

Grip pod is a great thing and pretty affordable,I have a 6-9 and a 9-13 bipod the 9-13 is the best for me and my traccer platform. You want to be able to tilt your gun up for long shots.Remember at 100 yds you get 15 ft of drop on a fsr.The 6-9 didn't have enough tilt. The grip pod on my 9.1 gives you good tilt ability and is great at giving you stable shots while standing.

Thanks for the reply's Casper and Matt, I was thinking 9-1 might be too much, but with the 15' drop I can see where it would come in handy.

I use a 9" - 13" Harris, ultralight s (for swivel) and love it. The Hammerhead barrel on my t9.1 doesn't permit me to use the front shroud and that means I have to choose between a foregrip and bipod because of the lack of space under the barrel of the shorter configuration. I think shooting out of a prone position with a good bipod makes for the best possible accuracy, and I wouldn't be without one on my SR1.
Some people (like me) love the swivel because it makes shooting on uneven ground easier. Others think there is too much movement in a swivel bipod. It's a personal choice and comes down to what works for you.

Here's a fix for the hammerhead/shroud problem.....nothing a dremel can't fix.

Very nice and the solution is creative too! Here was my solution. I put a compenstor on the front and that solved the length problem with the hammerhead and gave enough room for a magpul vertical foregrip (very comfortable and light!), as well as a Tiberius bipod! I love it!

I use a harris style bipod by Blackhawk. I like 9-13 because anything smaller made reloading difficult.

This is the one that I use:http://www.rockstartactical.com/product_p/mil-bipod-bp88.htm
It's really nice but it has a stiff spring for the legs.
jjron99, what barrel and suppressor is that on your gun?

Thanks Trinity and Chicago, I appreciate the input. Hope the information helps. I was playing around a bit with my bipod this morning and I realized that I forgotten to add something to my post. You specifically wanted to know about swivel bipods and I didn't mention the Alpha Bravo Bipod Lock. The Alpha Bravo is a long handle that replaces the thumbnut on a swiveling bipod and makes it far easier to use. Turn the handle one way and the bipod is free to swivel. When you have the gun level, rotate the handle back and lock it down. I wouldn't use a swivel without one. I have gotten a lot of bipod questions lately and the answers to those questions will be in my next blog article along with some pictures.

@ jjron99, love that look. Lapco silencers with hammerhead extension? It's the lapco suppressor mounted on the lapco hushshot extension, couldn't tell you what barrel the hushshot is mounted on though.

You know the old adage? "You get what you pay for." And, in paintball we sometimes add the phrase, "and sometimes not even that!"
Well I purchase an NcStar because it was like 400% cheaper than the one that Trinity has. Well, you get what you pay for (...and sometime...). It is a bipod and it does mount to the SR1; but, the springs on each side aren't the same strength (so they don't pop out the same - in fact, one of them doesn't come out all the way unless you pull it manually - brand new right out of the box) and you really, really need to torque down hard on the knurled knobs to make the legs both stay at the same height.
But, for now it will work fine on a bench here at home for testing and at the field the "full sized" unit will allow me to stand behind a bunker and shoot standing up or kneeling down. And, I'm hoping it will act like a crutch to help me get up (legs forward and a little beyond the barrel). One day (maybe next year), I might buy a swivel for it if it continues to preform as expected.

Well, here's an update after some really limited use. It really has not been field test for even one day yet! And, I can already tell. Don't go cheap! So, why did I? Because I forgot the adage of, "do it right once, or do it over." The two legs have a mind of their own. And, it's not easy to get to "line up." I never like NcStar before...I just confirmed I was right...
