I figured I'd post this project that I did last year.
Around last fall I volunteered to help run a paintball shooting booth outside of a local walmart, sponsored by Kee/JT. One of the markers we demoed was the JT ER2, a cheap, plastic, pistol-style pump. I was deeply impressed by it though, and immediately thought of all the possibilities this little guy had. Fulda Gap 2011 was right around the corner and I had recently sold my first t9.1. I bought one and took it home. I first installed a spare spyder-threaded barrel I laying around and it matched well with a FS round. Then I took off the feedneck and opened it up so I could hand-load first strikes. I later played around with the spring to try to get it closer to 285 fps. It's consistency was pretty bad, and I never got around to modding it for an HPA hook-up. I added a ghetto hitman mod for ease of pumping and cool points.
Oh, and I had to paint it.
It's consistency was crappy, but I think the chrono was to blame for a lot of the inconsistencies. These are the velocities I recorded in two tests of 14 shots each before and after the spring change. FS rounds were used; each test was using the first 14 shots off a 12g. DNR= did not register on the chronograph. Velocities are listed side-by-side for comparison purposes.
Overall, it was surprisingly accurate at shorter distances (30-40 yards). At longer distances the elevation tended to vary and shots were mostly guesswork. I played Fulda using this as a secondary. I had gotten a little practice with it beforehand. I know for sure that I got two kills with it, but for most of my shots where I thought I hit someone it was hard to tell because I was shooting from about 60 yards out without a scope.
