Interesting to see which scopes do you use. Pros and cons about that scope will be helpful.
Started this thread, because I plan to replace the red dot on my T9. I recently installed a FS conversion kit in my Tiberius to get more range. The APR is ordered, but also need a decent scope.

I went with the NCstar mark III 2-7x32. I just got it so I haven't been able to try it out yet but it seems to have all the features I wanted for about $80. It has the low power for quick targeting and wide field of view and it can be zoomed in for spotting or longer shots when you have time to take a good aim. It has illuminated crosshairs which I plan on putting a solid flip-up cover on the end so I can leave it closed and treat it as a "red dot" type sight for suprise close fire fights and can be easily flipped open for regular use. It has a quick release base on it for easy cleaning or storage. It has a bullet drop compinsator on it, although I don't think that will be all that useful, I'm using it on the APR so it shouldn't be needed. It comes in your choice of I believe three different types of crosshairs. It's fairly short and light. It has about 3" of eye relief which seems good with my mask on. Hopefully I'll get to try it out as soon as my new T9.1 gets here!

Maybe this is just me, but no matter what I am shooting (First strike or otherwise) I won't use a magnified scope for sighting in my targets. All that I use a scope for (I just use the standard Tiberius 4X32) is to scan the field and look for moments of opportunity or a place to move to so that I can have a better chance of elimination(s). Other that that I just use a red-dot

I might however be buying a red dot to mess around with.

I think not to a scope, but a sight instead. I uas a red dot sight, no magnification.
If you had a low magnification scope( like x3 orx4) that might be ok.

One little trick I've been told about is when using a red dot sight, you can cover the end of it and shoot with both eyes open. Your eyes will automatically superimpose the red dot on where the gun is pointed even though you can't see thru the sight so it allows you to keep a wide field of vision instead of getting tunnel vision so you can stay aware of what's going on around you. I'm in the process of trying this with the magnified illuminated scope and a flip up lens cover. It should make for the best of both worlds. Cover closed works like a red dot with quick targeting and wide field of vision and flip cover open and you now have the magnified scope when needed.
Hope that all made since the way I typed it, if not let me know and I'll try to word it different.

Well I was always tought to shoot with 2 eyes open at all times (except at long range, like 400 yrds plus). But that was with real firearms, I adapt it to when I play paintball to. Imo anything over 4x is overkill, bcuz realistically there wont be any need for it other than scouting. that being said to each his own

Actually you do have some use of a magnified scope if you shoot at targets say 60 meters + (would be around 180ish ft) this because while you don't need it to shoot your target you do have the advantage of actually seeing where the FS fly. this means that if you miss you know exactly how to correct your aim to hit rather then the more touch and go correction of a red dot.
I use the scope that comes with the elite as well as a ADCO mirage red dot depending on how dense the area that i play on is. There's little point using a scope where all your shots will be within 40 meters (120 ish ft) since you can still see the FS round on that distance. longer then that and a scope in my opinion is a good idea.
also for those that use red dot you should have both eyes open to avoid tunnel vision and so you can keep a tag on your surrounding even while aiming.

Gotta go with the 4x32 stock scope. I had a 12x on there for a while just to see how it would work for scouting. The extra magnification didn't hurt in that regard.

I use a 4x40 R/G illuminated mildot scope, chose it mostly because of the big eye relief, haven't had any regrets
