My ego keeps getting bigger and bigger and I find that telling on field stories isn't doing it anymore. I wanna show! Anyone have anything good to say about a helmet cam set up? I was thinking about picking up one of those "GoPros" but I don't know much about them. Cool video... www.youtube.com/watch?v=yo3M6EB8kmk What are you guys using if anything? I'm hoping to find something wide angle and hi-def. None of this zoomed in pixel crap for me.

I use the gopro on my motorcycle alot, great quality and easy to use. I would recommend the HD Hero version. They have a few different mounts depending on what mask you use. The case is waterproof but you may want to switch out the included "open" back so you can hear what's going on better, the solid back is made to cut out wind noise at 100+ mph. It should still have no problems taking a hit with the open back case but there is a chance you could get some paint in there. They are very durable from what I've seen. I've seen them fall off bikes at the track and they continue recording as they tumble forever and you then get a nice timelaps video of the sky until you can safely retrieve it. The angle is based on the record mode you use, some are wider and some are taller. Here's a link to my latest video from the track recorded on the gopro HD Hero... youtu.be/KnEDkXXHs5E

lol....That would be nice! I have a friend that is sponsored by them though....he shots and edits video at the track with them. One of these days I'll actually use mine out on the field, just I go to so much trouble to blend in and a camera on my forehead doesn't blend well....lol.

I tried getting a tachyon HD a while back since they are a little smaller. I pre ordered it, but they were a month past their release deadline, so I canceled my order. Another month later they finally started shipping to people. I was mad since I planned to use it on our trip to fiji.

Oh yea, I think go pros are better, I just didn't have the cash for one.

I just got a Contour Roam... 170 degree aspect ratio in 720hd. 125 degree in 1080. Video looks amazing (my next game is next weekend, so I will be shooting with it then). But, like any action cam, if you are shooting at someone further away than 50 feet, you won't be able to see them. The only way you can see targets at normal paintball distances is with a camera with zoom.
Plus mounting it on your helmet and then laying prone will only show footage of the ground... Angles really matter with helmet cams.
The go pro's are nice, but a very large boxy signature, that is hard to mount compared to the contours.

Tried the GoPro, but wasn't very happy with the operation or body profile. So I am selling mine and getting a Contour HD.
