I started playing paintball about 5 years ago. Saw it the first time when I was a kid in the 80's and my friend and I stumbled into a "war zone" in a state park where the military was training using paintball guns. At the time I had no clue what paintball was, and I remember thinking I wanted to try that. Fast forward 30 years... and I finally had the perfect place to play, so I got a marker (A-5) and talked my friends into getting gear as well, and we started playing. Today we have over 100 players on my private email list, and we average about 30 per game! As we have played I watched as players would upgrade, looking for better accuracy, and consistancy, especially at distance. (we play on a large field, with each camp at the top of a hill, and you have to do down and cross one of the many creeks on our property to get to the other camp. So being able to shoot out players at 300+ feet is a HUGE tactical advantage. Anyway, I recently made a video showing my personal "sniper" rifle... which isn't typical of most players perception of a paintball sniper rifle, but that is OK. The fun of paintball is doing what YOU enjoy, and setting up your marker so YOU like it. Check it out, and you can click 1080HD to watch it in the highest resolution. www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlNdA_xsZyU

First off, welcome to ACES I like your testing parameters. It looks like your marker is in a vice..and I like how you have a crono in front too...very well thought and planned. I am an A5 lover, but only have a stock barrel and flatline. I have been looking for years for a dead accurate barrel. And so far I think that a 14-16 is what the A5's like for length. Question to you is: How dose the Apex1 and 2 compare to the flatline? And: should I get an Apex( 1 or 2) for my 14" or 16" barrel?

Apex is genteler on paint and also is more gas efficent. Plus Flatlines only work with tippmann (If you prefer firing tippmann no big deal) so if you want to be able to switch it around to other markers the apex is a better buy. Also Apex is cheaper according to TechPB it comes with the tip and a barrel with adapter and thread of your chose for 40-50 dollars where the flatline is around 80-90 dollars.

Uploaded to youtube some game footage... good old ONE shot kills. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ncGKfjnZtAwAs you can see from that video I am a HUGE fan of the Apex 1 or 2. For me personally I like a short barrel, so I prefer the old Apex 1 barrel (8 inch) with my new Apex 2 tip... (haven't even used the 14 inch in a game yet). But, I did just get a new A-5 Flatline barrel and I will be doing some more testing in the future, you can check out my youtube channel for the testing I have completed so far. youtube.com/TrailsOfDoom subscribe to see it first.
