During the upcoming outing I'm thinking it would be fun to have 2 markers. The primary sniper and the secondary pistol.
I'm looking for the right sling that is going to allow me to fire the rifle with FSR, rotate it around to my back, secure it, and go running around with a pistol.
The selection process has been a little more involved than I thought.
The first one I liked was the following:
The Irene Adaptive Sling (IAS)
www.youtube.com/watch?v=WXSxjcJLHoE
-Nice price at $34
-Seems to work great for swapping it to the back
-Works great going 1 to 2 point and back
-Works with gloves on or off
It's missing one thing (possibly) that someone pointed out when shooting the rifle the other day. Unlike some other slings it's not going to provide me any added stability when I'm standing up and firing.
I looked around and found this one:
Viking Tactics Sling
www.youtube.com/watch?v=YhojNCdksYw
-Seems to work decently well for switching from right to left
-Added stability on the right
I've also had someone point out a do-it-yourself 3 point. I'm totally down for creating my own, but only if it fit's my needs better and would be the same or higher quality as something store bought
In the end, added stability is good of course, but is it really going to be usable on the field or is having that sling running out to the front of the gun going to just be something more to snag?
I think in order of importance in attributes I would say:
No fuss during use (overly complex and difficult to deal with)
Security on the back (doesn't move around)
Ease of rotation to the back
Conversion from 1 to 2 point and back
Ease of hooks (on/off)
Price
Added shooting stability
What is your preferred sling if you use one? Any recommendations?
