Alright i just recieved an "intresting" video in the mail. It introduces the Scenario dream Sniper rounds (made by normal paintballs) as well as their home page (they have custom sniper markers for these rounds. www.paintball.fi/page.php?id=2337 (ignore the Finnish text above and just click on the video) www.scenariodreams.com/Now do i think these can be Effectively used? I am a bit doubtful. It does seem like alot of work for a very very limited useage. Anyway thought someone might find this intresting

Interesting, but I would really doubt their consistency. Good find though.

Even though they are technically cheaper I'm not sure if I would want to have those savings for the time that I would have to put into them to use them

Not to mention that while the fins are cheap, you still need to buy paintballs, and super glue, both are additional costs that they so conveniently forget to mention Also while they seem to improve accuracy and range from normal paintball, they're still not a match in either against the first-strikes (not to mention that you have to load them 1 by 1 through your barrel )

I did see a comparison (or maybe it was comparing myself) between these and FS rounds. FS rounds blew them out of the water: more accurate, great distance. I'm glad to see innovators out there trying stuff like this out but in this case there is already something better in the FS.
Also consider that there is NO loader for these. Even the FS mags from tib are not going to support these. It's single breach load or nothing.

I saw these on PBN a while ago. I thought they where a great idea and a good alternative to first strike rounds.

Of course they may be better when you are limited to field paint only.

True true. Are they for sale yet?? I would love to get my hands on some and do some better testing.

I'm not really a fan..
They're a pain to make (the fins don't fit the paintballs well so you need to clamp them or hold them in place while the glue dries) While they say it's awesome at a field paint only event, it isn't practical because it means as soon as you arrive and get your paint, you have to sit there gluing fins on.
There's a modest increase in accuracy, but nowhere near as first strikes. There isn't any range gain, unless you're chronoing the marker with sniper rounds, at which point you're only getting extra range cause you're shooting a heavier (and possibly dangerous?) projectile at the same speed.
If you shoot exclusively sniper rounds, you're gonna have to spend a buttload of time gluing. If you're shooting regular paintballs then pop in a sniper round, your velocity will drop and end up shooting short...
Cheaper than first strikes for a reason...

Well put Mule. Still, applaud them for trying.

not really a new thing. We used nearly the exact same thing back when I got into paintball.
