So I decided to, yet again, give in the hype. But at least THIS TIME, the hype was true. First some background. FSRs are only allowed every so often, under various conditions at the fields around here, and all are FPO on most days. FPO paint quality is all over the place, and over the summer season, I kept getting frustrated with having to spend more time cleaning out the paint, sitting at a picnic table, than actually being out in the field. All my markers, except one of my two TiPXs shred paint like a bad habit. So I started the hunt for the marker that is the most gentle on paint. I settled for the Planet Eclipse LV1, in Midnight. Got it this week, gave it a first run yesterday, and man, this thing shoots lasers. And not a single ball break all day! This is what paintball heaven is like. Now all I have to figure out is a way to make it look more milsim...

Always good to know about options. Especially since as wingbatwu says fs aren't always allowed and (in my opinion at least) you don't have to use fs to play as a sniper since a big part is stealth and tactics and not only range and accuracy. It might actually be good to use round paint from time to time (even if you always are allowed to use fs) to force one self to focus and get better on stealth.

sorry white, missed the smiley and was a bit tired so i didn't realise that. Wingbatwu about making it more milsim you can probably check out this for some inspiration (made for the etha) www.planeteclipse.com/site/products/emc_etha_rail_mounting_kitmight also be worth looking into if its possible or if some one has tried to mod this for use with the LV1 (don't have time to check myself though)

Nice design with the air transport from asa to reg. As said the lesser range of roundies is a excellent way to practice stealth to get up closer and the gentleness on paint supports the reliability witch promotes trust of your equipment, a fact I believe is KEY to take your game further. Nothing destroys my game more than using a marker I don't know if it will brake paint, jam or just be inaccurate.
As for upgrades, the rail kit might be the way to go, Remember that you'll need a offset for the sight since the top rail is effectively rendered ineffective by the feed neck. As for the stock, I think that it might be better to go with on board air or a air-thru stock/ tank in stock that screws into the asa just for the mask clearance.
This might be obvious but I'll mention it just the same. I'd recommend setting it up in a way that you shoot it like a speed ball player. I.e. slightly angled looking down the barrel, the barrel a extension of your nose, both eyes open, a bit like this guy is showing
With that as a base you have real quick reflex shooting in surprise situations and then you find a way to get a sight above that line for added accuracy when time permits. I would recommend a no zoom sight with a vertical or/and horizontal line in the reticle to counter uneven canting that skews the sight line in relation to the flight path of the ball. When setting up the scope I'd recommend trying to get straight above the barrel, having it offseted induces different windage error on different distances.
And finally practice for consistency for added accuracy.
Just what I came to think about, hope something of the rant was food for thought. Good luck building!

For strict limited ammo games, I am planning on dremelling an EMC kit for the LV1, use my Palmer Pursuit 15rd spring fed tube, AND I am definitely trying the single-load First Strike technique seen in this vid: (skip to the 1:50 mark if you want to see it right away)

I can't do the "bolt action" first strike load, but at least it looks somewhat milsim (and compatible with limited ammo game rules)

Looks really nice. Kinda curious about how it looks with a tank attached though if you aren't going remote that is.

Interesting in that vid 2 replies up (wingbatwu)... they load a white FS round (looks like) but splatters yellow on the face mask
