Here's something the industry and Tiberius could do to promote this. BTW, I'm all for what archangel said. I chrono with first strikes. Cause that's what i shoot! I used to hate thinking that it was costing me 40 cents a shot to chrono using first strike; but, then I realized that it was the extra cost of having the privilege to use first strikes on the fields.
So, here's my suggestion. To all new, 100 count cases of first strikes manufactured, Tiberius add an additional 10 shots for free! That's roughly 10% for safety reasons. You receive a case from tiberius with extra rounds for safety (they don't increase the street price). I want to continue to use first strike as I'm sure that Tiberius wants to continue to sell them. All new multimode (FS and round paint markers should contribute 1% of the cost to make a Tiberius round to Tiberius to help defray their 10% contribution). Great press for all than that contribute to the cost and the sport! Call it the Chicago First Strike tariff! "We support it! so should you."

This is absolutely a issue if ppl are not aware of it, to me it seemed so obvious that I didn't even consider that a new player wouldn't think of it... This is definitely something that should go into basic tips about paintball...

No one with a switch fire mode or hopper mode to clip is going to do this exept stand up players.Out on the field there isn't enough refs to look for this.Yes we are a dedicated fsr crowd and know to chrony what we are using but some player is going to get that dye gun and and start slinging some fsr at players laughing shooting 340 or so. When I play I chrony fsr I am not going to shoot at players under 50 yds.I am thinking these switch guns are going to give the fsr a bad name.Players like us use them as a specialy finely tunned sights and guns. Now some ya ho is going to sling ropes of fsr. The apex cheat works the same lots of players know about it but don't say anything. You chrony with your ramp in the lowest position at 280 fps.You flip that that ramp to the highest position and your shooting 300-320.

I didn't know about the apex cheat. Wow. Makes sense. Sad though. That's why people are long balling me!

I say make all guns that are capable of shooting FS at semi auto, chrono with FS even if the say they are not going to use them. So the Tacamo, DAM, Scarab Arms and etc are mandated to chrono with FS.

Speaking of the apex cheat... here's a question for you, WHY? It is my firm belief that those hot rounds wont fly strait anyways, in my experience they start to were of randomly after ~290. (Regular paint, mind you, FS is another story)

Your right, at around 270-290 fps (depending on barrel and type of paint) the air pressure starts to make dents and dimples in the paintball, or cause them to deform. All this makes them less accurate. Now i don't think this applies to First strikes (ain't tested it with first strikes just normal paintballs) because of the more rigid shell and shape.

The apex for me was a novelty I used the dive bomb more than anything.Snap shooting was always bad it isn't the same trajectory. So I would crank the ramp down when I was snapping with someone.Being the picky pump player I am I chrony all the time.My gun was shooting 280's when I walked on (ramp down)Walking off it was at 310(ramp down)Sometimes I would let it go and just shoot long balls at 280 and kinda stay back for a while leave the field and re choney with another barrel.Playing in tournys we push the 300 envelope all the time.Never really noticed much inaccuracy at that velocity. Apex is a fun tool through.
