I must confess my ignorance in this manner and ask for the help of fellow snipers here. We do have two sets of measures/fittings: Imperial and Metric. We talk in terms of meters and yards. They are close, but, not the same.
So, I was wondering, if rifling is like that too? Both in true, real world ballistics and in paintball are all riflings the same or do they vary?

Hmm, They really should all be the same in my opinion. Your Question did remind me of another question i've been thinking about. Do they measure the bore on all rifled barrels the same way? or do some measure it from the ridges and others from the valleys. I know that a long time ago stiffi and smartparts did measure theirs differently, dunno about the newer ones though.

If I understood the question correctly then no, there are different rifling. Different "turns / distance" at least, then there is probably different depths and width on the rifling grooves.

If that's how you meant then ofcourse there's different rifling, (in that case disregard my previous post). depth, aggressive rifling, turn, distance, width just like Allu said. Some real rifles even have changing rifling in the same barrel. I took the question as if we measure it differently. But i haven't slept more then 6 hours total the last three days so ignore me.

Thanks for your quick responses and added info. You know I truly still learn new things every day. This all came about cause of some of Allu's earlier questions as well as others on paintball rifling. So what I think I hear you saying is that not only would bore size effect the spin, Tiberius and Hammerhead could have slightly different/varying twists, the ridges and valleys can also be different and it could be metric or imperial scale spacing between the groves in the barrel. So, unless those companies release this type of information. We will have a lot of unanswerable variables that could be contributing the accuracies we are or aren't seeing in them.

I'd like to know what the twist on a rifle barrel is for paintball. its understandable that they would be different from firearms, but it would be cool if someone would put together a chart for different barrel twist and what affect they have on FS to regular rounds. I would love to do it but I dont have FS or riffled barrels.
