So I love laying in the brush and taking out players who have NO clue that I am there... Saturday I had my 26th event at my private field and here is some of the action I saw during our games. Good times, in 1080HD with 5.1 surround sound. Subscribe and pass the video on if you like it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1RM8X-4zpsI play with a Tippmann A-5 and a 8 inch barrel with my Apex 2 tip using low cost paint (infinity) and Co2 with a remote coil. I guess they didn't see me... lol!

Yes! This pleases Archangel!
Seriously man, awesome video. And I agree with you in full, we need more sniper videos. I'm planing to pick up one of those GoPro cams soon so I can bring it along while I'm in the brush.
Are you using any specific video editing software? I really liked how you had the dual cams running. I'd like to do something similar.

The trick is to pick your camera gear with the same attention to detail that you would pick your marker gear... Go Pro's and other "action" cams will not show good "sniper" footage. They are good to about 50 feet, and most paintball shots are at around 65-100 feet away. The double elimination in that video above was 150 feet away! No action cam would pick up those kills. You need a camera that has zoom, and you want optical zoom, not digital. I play with a Sony HDR-SR1 mounted on my A-5... It is a full 1080HD prosumer camcorder with a carl zeiss lens that has 10x optical zoom, and TONS of image stabilization. I play with it set between 3X and 5X depending on the game. It isn't something you can just throw on and get good footage, it takes a LOT of practice and thinking about the film shot, as well as your paintball shot! But, if people always discount your play, and YOU are the only one to see your shots, it really is fun to capture your eliminations on video! Go pro's also have a fisheye look, if I were going to buy just an action cam to learn the ropes, I would go with the Contour HD. Course, any HD camera and you will need edit software to be able to use it... Windows movie maker is free, but doesn't work with HD. I started with that, and used a cheap ATC3K camera I got for Christmas back in 2008. You can check out my youtube channel to see my progression as I have almost 70 videos on there now. www.youtube.com/trailsofdoom subscribe to see my newest stuff, as this is our playing season. I still run my ATC3K on my helmet and that is the picture in picture footage on that video. I currently edit with Sony Vegas Platinum suite version 10. It works well, if you understand digital editing systems (pretty complex if you don't) I majored in Film production in college and was one of the first digital editors in the world, as I was a beta tester/installer/trainer for Avid in 93. So I've been around digital editing since it started. Here is a little headshot video I made a few weeks ago... www.youtube.com/watch?v=ncGKfjnZtAwThe shot at :21 in that video is with the optical zoom at 5X and then zoomed in with the edit software... Compare that to the same footage right after from my ATC3K where it gets hit in the lens, at :23, and you can see what I mean about needing zoom to see the action! The players were about 130 feet apart! No action cam will pick that up without zoom. This is what my gun looks like with the camera mounted... from one side you don't even notice it. Here is the mount I made. And with the $4.00 box I got from IKEA covering it... Which has taken many direct hits with no problem. And my helmet cam mount. The stock mounts are too heavy, this is just foam that I shaped to fit the top of the mask putting the camera in the perfect position, so it doesn't pull down on my helmet. I made a mount for the right and left side, but I use it on my left side since I am right handed. Camo duck tape holds it perfectly and is easy to remove after the game.

Oh, I didn't pay retail for my Sony HDR. I got it off craigslist for $200...
My Sony edit gear was $79, and my ATC3K you can get for around $70 now, so you can do it for not much money, if you look around.
If I were buying a first camera I would go with a contour, (lower cost would be the tachyon, I don't like the gopro fisheye personally) and windows movie maker just to learn the ropes.

I had a blast making this one... Only good quality kills in this video, total action for 3 minutes. Let it load in 1080HD and watch it full screen. It is also in 5.1 surround sound! www.youtube.com/watch?v=6lCaRuufPNA

You know how some players scream at others that they are OUT and they are sure they hit them all the way across the field... This video proves that your eyes can lie, but when it is on film, the proof is right there! Zoomcam Sniper footage, as close as you can get without it being a hit... And some headshots, and more. Subscribe if you haven't yet. Watch it in HD as the low res didn't process correctly... www.youtube.com/watch?v=8iyNDjNpCkUMy newest sniper rifle with my ZoomCam... I can reach out and touch players even out to 300+ feet with regular paint shooting 280fps or less! AND show it on video!

Revolutionary war is GREAT sniper practice. You get ONE shot per round, and the players that are accurate with this style of play are often targeted by the other team as they know you will just shoot them all out if given the chance. Here is some ZoomCam footage from our last two events. One shot kills from 120-150 feet away. If you don't have it on film... It didn't happen. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ShvIkvO6sjE
