Ok, as per some instructions to get this topic rolling... I will start of by saying: Burlap and Lute are EXTREMELY flammable. Never ever wear a ghillie with smoking, near open flames or near anything that can start a fire. Buy a dry or pre-mixed fire-retardant like this: www.ghilliesuits.com/fire-proof-itfrp-1031lbbag.aspx Follow the instructions! After you treat your ghillie, test it. Take a small sample and try to light it with a match. There are records of people being severely burned after their suit catches fire and they cannot remove it fast enough. If you play in the rain, you MUST retreat the suit. Solution: Buy or construct you suit out of synthetic string. They work just the same as burlap, but don't fray and fall apart. You usually lose half the weight of the burlap to that fuzz that falls off with you pull it apart. I have an old suit I have retired. I have made the change to synthetic for the following reasons: Doesn't burn Has no smell Easy to work with. No "fuzz" Comes in all the same colours as burlap and jute.

No problem.
Oh yeah, one last thing. When you treat your suit be prepared to lose more "fuzz". For whatever reason when you apply the treatment, there is tons of fuzz that comes off. It doesn't make the suit fall apart. as per se, but just do you know... you have been warned.
For the slight difference in the real vs synthetic, its a clear choice. I like the fact the material is: * Water-proof * Rot-proof * Mildew resistant * Fire-retardant * Washable * Odor-less * Non-Allergenic

Go on that link and look up synthetic. They sell the material on that site. However, I have found the bundles for cheaper on other sites. I don't have the other links, but just goggle synthetic ghillie string.
Be aware it is more money, so if you find it really cheap it might not be synthetic... I found that out. Read the fine print.
It comes in all the same colours. I like mixing in the grey to lighten up areas of my suit. I prefer the timber pattern suit (grey, forest green, OD and brown)
